Bro Andrew was initiated into his Mother Lodge in 1947 and was installed as Master by Bro John Taylor PM and Bro Alexander Johnstone PM, who were also his proposer and seconder, in December 1961. By 1963 he was a Provincial Grand Steward and in 1967 was Substitute PGM. He held this position until 1982 when he was installed as Provincial Grand Master in January by the Most Worshipful Grand Master Mason, Bro Captain Robert Wolrige Gordon of Esselmont.
