Provincial Grand Lodge of Renfrewshire East

50th Anniversary Celebrations at Lodge McLaren No. 1688

Lodge McLaren No.1688 celebrated its 50th Anniversary on Saturday 26th October with a Rededication ceremony conducted by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Renfrewshire East.

For Provincial Grand Master Bro. Ronald E. Fraser - heading the Deputation into his own Mother Lodge - it was a unique occasion.

The East Kilbride Lodge was packed with 85 Brethren for the occasion, from both within and outwith the Province when it was opened by RWM Bro. Frank Kelly who welcomed in the Provincial Grand Lodge Deputation.

The Rededication ceremonial was carried out by PGM Bro. Ronald E. Fraser assisted by Bro. Chris Kerr DPGM, Bro. Gavin Burt SPGM, Bro. Brian Shields SPGM, Bro. Scott Bogle SPGM and Bro. Geoge Paul PG Chaplain.

The assembled Brethren were told that although East Kilbride had changed over the past 50 years the Fellowship of Freemasonry had stayed the same.

Following the ceremony a special Anniversary dinner and Harmony was enjoyed by 60 Brethren.

PGM Bro. Ronald E. Fraser thanked all those who had attended and made it such a special occasion for the Lodge.

He added: “It was such a privilege and pleasure to be able to lead the Provincial Deputation into my own Mother Lodge to conduct this ceremony – a truly unique experience."
