On Saturday 6th June 350 brethren gathered at Paisley Town Hall to witness the Rededication of Provincial Grand Lodge. Among them was 40 brethren from Sister Provinces across Scotland. The deputation Sister Provinces deputation, headed by Bro David Irving, Provincial Grand Master of Dunbartonshire, was warmly welcomed into the province by the PGM, Bro Ronald E. Fraser.
The deputation from the Grand Lodge of Scotland was headed by the Most Worshipful Grand Master Mason, Bro Alexander Charles Graham Moncrieff. He was accompanied by his Office Bearers and a number of brethren from within the province, who hold HG Rank.
The assembled brethren were treated to an excellent Rededication Ceremony after which, the PGM thanked the GMM and his Office Bearers for their work.
Following the ceremony, 240 brethren stayed for the celebration dinner. Guests at the dinner included Colonel Peter McCarthy, Lord Lieutenant of Renfrewshire and Lorraine Cameron, Provost of Renfrewshire.
After the dinner the PGM presented the GMM with a £1150 benevolence cheque. He also made a £500 donation to the Scottish Military Personnel Recovery Unit on behalf of the Lord Lieutenant, along with a further £500 to the Provost’s Charity Fund.
Toasts were proposed to the Grand Lodge of Scotland, the Provincial Grand Lodge of Renfrewshire East and the Daughter Lodges. The evening concluded with the singing of Auld Lang Syne and the National Anthem.
